Every style on this page is a Unicode lookalike: Cherokee syllabary, CJK strokes, halfwidth kana, Canadian Aboriginal “fat” letters, Letterlike Symbols, and similar mappings. Why does a screen reader say the wrong language?
Lookalikes are real letters from other scripts. A reader may announce Cherokee syllables or Japanese kana instead of your English word. Keep important names in plain text.

Mixed support: some devices show empty boxes. Not for usernames: login and @handle fields typically reject the characters even when a bio renders them.
